When Hard Things Help Spread God’s Love
Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Acts 8:4
Imagine if your whole family had to suddenly move away from your home because some really mean people were trying to hurt you just because you loved Jesus. That sounds pretty scary, doesn’t it? But that’s exactly what happened to the first Christians in Jerusalem!
At first, everything was going great! More and more people in Jerusalem were becoming Christians every day. The apostles were healing sick people and telling everyone about Jesus. But some of the Jewish leaders got really angry about this. The tension kept building and building, like a pot of water about to boil over.
Then something terrible happened. A brave Christian named Stephen was killed just for talking about Jesus! This made a man named Saul (who later became the apostle Paul) so angry that he started trying to arrest and hurt Christians all over the city. The Christians were so scared that they had to leave Jerusalem and scatter to different towns and cities.
But here’s the amazing part: Instead of just hiding and feeling sorry for themselves, these Christians kept telling people about Jesus wherever they went! What was meant to stop them from sharing the Gospel actually helped them spread it to way more people than ever before!
Sometimes hard things happen in our lives too. Maybe your family has to move to a new city maybe you have to change schools, or maybe someone you love has to stay in the hospital for a while. These things can feel really scary and sad. But God can use even difficult situations to put us in places where He wants us to share His love with new people!
Think About It: Has something hard or unexpected ever happened in your life that seemed really bad at first? Looking back, can you see any ways that God used that situation for good? Maybe you met new friends, learned to be braver, or had chances to help other people. Remember, wherever God allows you to go—even if it’s not where you planned—there are people there who need to see His love through you

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
