Better Together
To Philemon our beloved friend and fellow laborer, to the beloved Apphia, Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house. Philemon 1:1-2
Think about your best friends. What makes them so awesome? Maybe they make you laugh, help you when you’re sad, or stick up for you when someone’s being mean. Friends are super important, aren’t they?
Jesus knew we would need friends to help us follow Him! That’s one reason He created the Church. Back in Bible times before there were church buildings, Christians would meet in people’s houses. In today’s verse we read about a church that met in a man named Philemon’s house. These people prayed together, learned about God together, and helped each other when things got tough.
Did you know that having good Christian friends is really important for your faith? When you hang out with other kids who love Jesus, you encourage each other! Maybe your friend reminds you of a Bible verse when you’re scared. Maybe you help your friend make a good choice when they’re tempted to do something wrong. That’s how it’s supposed to work! We’re better together!
God never meant for us to follow Jesus all by ourselves. He gave us other Christians who can pray with us, learn with us, and cheer us on. Whether it’s your family, your church, your Sunday school class, or a small group, make sure you have Christian friends in your life!
Take Action: Think of one Christian friend, family member, or someone from church who helps you follow Jesus. Write them a note or tell them thank you for being in your life! Then ask God to help you be a good Christian friend to others too.

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
