Be That Friend
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35
What makes someone a good friend? Think about it for a second. A good is honest with you. They stick around when things get hard. They make you feel valued and seen. They care about what happens to you.
Jesus had a lot to say about friendship. He actually called His followers His friends, not His followers or His servants. And He gave them a challenge: to love each other the same way He loved them. That’s a big thing to ask! Because Jesus loved His friends enough to literally die for them.
But Jesus knew something that is still true today. When the world sees followers of Jesus being kind, forgiving each other, being loyal, and looking out for each other, it’s one of the most powerful ways people understand Jesus. People notice real love. It stands out because it’s different from the way people are normally treated a lot of the time.
So here’s the challenge: be the kind of friend that reflects Jesus. Be loyal. Be kind. Stick up for people. Be the one who makes others feel included instead of left out. Be willing to sacrifice what’s comfortable for you for someone else’s good.
That’s not just being a good person—that’s actually showing the world what Jesus is like!
Take Action: Think of one person in your life who could really use a good friend right now. This week, do one specific, intentional thing to show them they matter. Invite them to sit with you. Write them a note of encouragement. Pray for them by name. Be the friend to them that Jesus calls you to be!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
