Jesus is the Light of Heaven
The [New Jerusalem] had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. Revelation 21:23
On the fourth day of creation, God made the sun, moon, and stars to give light to the earth. Every day, the sun rises and gives us daylight. Every night, the moon and stars shine in the darkness. But did you know that in heaven, we won’t need the sun or moon at all?
In the New Jerusalem (the city where we’ll live in heaven), there won’t be any nighttime! And we won’t need the sun for light because Jesus Himself will be our light. Remember when Jesus said, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12; 9:5)? In heaven, His glory will fill the entire city with light that never goes out!
Try to imagine this: The whole city glowing with the brightness of God’s glory. No dark corners, no shadows, no nighttime—just constant, beautiful light coming from Jesus Himself. And everyone who lives there will reflect His light back, making the whole city shine even more!
This isn’t just about having light to see by. It’s about living in the presence of God’s glory forever. The Light of the World will surround us completely, and we’ll never have to be afraid of darkness again.
Take Action: Tonight, turn off all the lights in your room and notice how dark it gets. Then turn on a light and see the difference! Now imagine a light SO bright and beautiful that it never goes out and fills everything with warmth and joy. That’s what Jesus’ light will be like in heaven! This week, when you see the sun shining or a lamp lighting up a room, let it remind you that Jesus is the Light, and someday you’ll live in His light forever!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
