Forever is a Long Time
Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God.... He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone.” Revelation 14:9-10
Did you know that many people don't believe in hell? Even some people who go to church don't think it's real. But Jesus talked about hell more than anyone else in the Bible!
Jesus told a story about sheep and goats (Matthew 25:31-46) that happens during the final judgment when He returns. In the story, the good "sheep" are welcomed into God's Kingdom, but the "goats" who didn't follow God are sent to "the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.... And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life" (verses 41, 46).
The words "everlasting fire" and "everlasting punishment" match exactly with what John saw in his vision: "The smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever" (Revelation 14:11). Forever is a VERY long time!
The most important thing to understand is that everyone will live somewhere forever. We'll either be with God in heaven or separated from Him in hell. That's why Jesus came to earth—to make a way for us to be with God forever! When Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment for our sins so we could be forgiven.
Knowing about heaven and hell helps us make the most important choice ever—to follow Jesus!
Take Action: Get your art supplies and draw a picture of heaven as you imagine it. Include all the things you're most excited about for eternity with Jesus—maybe streets of gold, beautiful music, friendly animals, or getting to meet Bible heroes! Write a thank-you prayer at the bottom, thanking God for sending Jesus to make a way for you to live in heaven forever.

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
