Have you ever loved a song so much you hum it while you go to school, sing it in the shower, and tap your foot to its rhythm without thinking? That’s kind of what it will be like in heaven! The book of Revelation tells us that in heaven, there are choirs of angels and believers constantly singing praises to God. That must mean the songs in heaven are going to be AMAZING! Think of your favorite song...the songs in heaven must be even greater if we will want to sing them all the time, FOREVER!

But until we get to haven, when we sing worship songs here on earth, we’re joining in with heaven’s worship! We should enjoy all different kinds of worship music—both old hymns that Christians have sung for hundreds of years and new worship songs that are being written today. What matters most isn’t whether a song is old or new—it’s whether the words glorify God and teach us truth from the Bible.

When you sing songs about God, you’re reflecting the joy of heaven! You’re telling everyone around you (and reminding yourself) that God is in control of everything. Let your heart be filled with joy and give today a song!

Take Action: This week, try singing more! Sing worship songs in the car, hum hymns while you’re doing chores, or make up your own songs of praise to God. If you don’t know many worship songs, ask your parents to help you learn some, or listen to Christian music and learn the words. Pay attention to how singing about God changes your mood and helps you focus on His goodness. Remember, when you worship through song, you’re practicing for the eternal worship concert in heaven!
