A Place You Don't Want to Go
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20:14
Have you noticed that sometimes people use the word "hell" like it's no big deal? They might say it when they're surprised or upset. But in the Bible, hell is a very serious place. It’s a real eternal destination. Jesus warned, "Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28).
The book of Revelation gives us clear warnings about the reality of hell, and these warnings are like the flashing lights and sirens that tell us to stay away from danger!
But here's the amazing news: God doesn't want ANYONE to go to hell! That's why He sent His perfect Son Jesus to earth. Jesus came to take our punishment by dying on the cross, opening the door for us to have a relationship with God and live with Him forever in heaven instead!
Imagine if there was a bridge with a huge hole in it, and you knew cars would crash if they drove on it. Wouldn't you want to warn everyone? That's how we should feel about telling others about Jesus! We can help people learn about God's amazing love and salvation plan.
Think About It: Jesus told His followers to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). The Gospel is the good news about Jesus! Think of someone you know who might not know about Jesus yet. How could you share God's love with them this week? Maybe you could invite them to church, share your favorite Bible story, or just be extra kind to show them God's love in action!
