Joy

Occasionally we see pictures of children playing joyfully with the simplest of toys: an old tire, a deflated soccer ball, a frayed jump rope, or a tiny puppy. It brings to mind the words of the famous English preacher Charles Spurgeon, who said, “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.”

Often, in our culture, we are led to believe that a new “toy” of some kind will make us truly happy. Instead, perhaps we should focus on the one thing that is our ultimate source of joy—the knowledge that God loves us and forgives our sins.

This is David Jeremiah encouraging you to get on the road to new life . . . discover God’s joy . . . on Route 66.
